Penombra is available for free on the Mac App Store.
It lives in the menu bar and brings together two tools designed for working more comfortably in the darkest hours.
Darker than the hardware minimum
Penombra dims the screen below the hardware minimum by placing a veil over every connected display.
Colours and calibration are left untouched, and the veil disappears when the app quits.
The Mac stays awake when needed
Penombra keeps the Mac awake during a build, a transfer or any task that must not be interrupted.
Dimming and wakefulness remain independent and can be combined in the same preset.
Presets and automations
Presets can activate at a specific time, at sunset or when your chosen conditions are met.
Penombra also integrates with Shortcuts and Focus modes.
penombra and penombra Pro
Core features are free, and penombra Pro is unlocked with a single in-app purchase.
Download penombra from the Mac App Store.
Full details are on the penombra product page.
